What Causes Global Warming?
Us humans are destroying our planet and have been for centuries which is causing global warming. The main causes for global warming are: greenhouse gases, earth’s positive feedback loop, deforestation, and industrial activity. Global warming is a very serious issue because producing greenhouse gases melts ice caps, increases temperatures and CO2 levels, and causes more floods along with rising sea levels.
Firstly, greenhouse gases are produced by road or air transport, power plants, oil and gas production, coal mining, human and animal waste, and deforestation. These are just some of the issues that we are facing in our society today. Global warming is a very serious issue because producing greenhouse gases melts ice caps, increases temperatures and CO2 levels, and causes more floods along with rising sea levels.
Secondly, earth positive feedback loop is another example of why us humans have not changed at all since discovering global warming. It is a loop of bad effects that happens time and time again meaning that everytime it happens or ensues it is just destroying our planet more and more each time.
Thirdly, deforestation is the main cause for the temperatures rising because inside of the tree is where all the carbon is stored so when it is cut all of the CO2 is released into the atmosphere.
Finally, power plants, oil and gas production, and coal mining also release tons of excess CO2 into the atmosphere which is also making the temperatures rise. All of the resources that we are taking from earth are essentials for life such as the wood, coal, and gas to power vehicles and everyday items. There are other ways to take these items from nature, however, they are more expensive to manufacture because the world we live in today revolves around making money, so if companies are spending more extracting these essential resources they would never make any money.
What Can We Do?
There are three main ways that we can help stop global warming. First, we can save energy at home. Ways to do this are being aware that many of our homes waste energy by overusing air conditioning and electricity. Secondly, We can eat more fruits and vegetables which would be healthier for mankind while cutting down on animal products such as dairy and meat to help stop overgrazing. Finally, we can walk or cycle to places that are close enough would be very beneficial to help solving this problem and it would also help promote healthier choices for people.
Think about how you can do something to make a difference in global warming.
